Lostock Gralam F.C is not only one of the oldest football teams in Cheshire but also in England. Founded in 1892, The Grey Lambs have always been at the forefront of promoting amateur football in the county and helping to establish the Mid-Cheshire League in 1948, which has produced some outstanding sides and players.
Playing their home games at The Park Stadium on Manchester Road, Lostock, behind the Slow & Easy Hotel a ground that has seen football played on it for over 100 years, The Grey Lambs are looking to provide new facilities to develop football with the youngsters within the area and so maintain the tradition which for so long has been associated with Lostock Gralam F.C.
With the introduction of a reserve team in July 2006 in to the Crewe & District League and with applications for funding underway, The Grey Lambs are looking to return to the top of the amateur league, which has eluded them for the past couple of years.

Bithell Back for Lostock
Preparations for the new season are well underway at Lostock with Neil Bithell back for a second spell as manager, this time assisted by Pat Collins with Ross Speight as Coach and Ted Harrison continuing as manager of the reserve team.
Bithell said –
“I’m glad to be back as this is a club that’s heading in the right direction with the work going on behind the scenes to improve the facilities. The team is stronger than when I left and there’s some really good young players coming with me, so we’re looking forward to getting started.”
Ground Development
Lostock had double reason to celebrate at the weekend (11/10/08) as they received news that they had been successful in procuring £241,400 from the Football Foundation to complete their long awaited Ground Development Project. The funding will go together with the £155,000 already allocated from Vale Royal Borough Council to completely level the site, including demolishing the current changing facilities, to pave the way for a new build changing room and clubhouse, a full drainage network on a revamped senior pitch with an additional mini soccer pitch added for junior football.
Simon Gerrard, Development Manager for the Cheshire FA said - "We are pleased to have supported the club in this application to the Football Foundation, and are delighted that the club have been successful. This project will see the upgrade of a traditional community club into a hub for grass roots development, and we look forward to seeing the clubs long term development plan come to fruition".
Derek Washburn, Club Chairman, said "I've been involved in this club for over 40 years now, and can't put into words how much this means to me and to the people of Lostock. Once this is complete, we will have facilities to match any amatuer club in Cheshire and fully intend to use this opportunity to develop young, local players to put the club at the top of the amatuer tree once again."
The club will meet with project managers from Groundwork on the 22nd of October to sign off tenders documents, with a view to commencing work early in 2009.
It won't be long before Lostock Gralam F.C will be back where they belong contesting for the trophies that amateur football has to offer.
