Mid Cheshire District Cup – Update Statement

Following an investigation by the Mid Cheshire District FA into the recent Mid Cheshire Cup Semi Final between Barnton and Lostock Gralam Reserves, both clubs have been found guilty of fielding ineligible players, both clubs have been fined, and the match will be replayed on Thursday 16th of April, 6.15pm at Barnton FC.

Lostock Gralam Football Club would like to make it clear that no written complaint was originally put forward by the club and would like thank the Mid Cheshire District FA for looking into the matter. We are embarrassed to have fielded an ineligible player for the reserves in the fixture against Barnton, who had already appeared for the first team in an earlier round of the cup. We hope this draws the matter to a close and look forward to the opportunity to play Barnton again.

Winning the Crewe and District 1st Division on 31st March 2007!

Lostock Reserves 4 – 1 Sandbach Town

The young guns of Lostock Reserves brought the first piece of silverware to the club in a decade with a resounded win in their final game of the season.

Kimber settled the nerves in the 4th minute when he threw himself at a Johns cross to open the scoring. The Lambs created a lot of chances but had to wait until just before half time for Harrison to slot home from just outside the box.

Half Time 2 – 0

Sandbach gave their hosts a scare when Halloran scored with what proved to be a consolation goal early in the second half. O’Sullivan scored the goal of the game shortly afterwards when he caught the keeper in conversation with his defence to launch a 63 yard free kick over his head to make it 3 – 1. Bryning put the icing on the cake with the fourth late into the game to spark celebrations that went on long into the night!

Manager Niki Bugg –

“It’s a great achievement for a team to win the league like this in their first season, particularly with the number of young players we’ve had moving up into adult leagues for the first time. We’ve played good football all year and we’re looking forward to next season”

Vice Chairman Chris Peers –

“They’ve been a great bunch of lads all season and we’re proud that they’ve brought some silverware to the club. We seem to have a good balance of some of the older players dropping down from the first team to bring the young lads on and we hope to repeat the feat next year!

AJ Cooke Trophy – Semi Final

Winnington 1 – 2 Lostock Reserves AET

Lostocks second string made their 2nd final in a week after a hard fought victory after extra time against the much improved Winnington Avenue. The volume of games is starting to take it’s toll on Lostock, and they were short on bodies and energy in a first half in which Winnington took the lead. Lostock improved after the break and Izzard popped up with an equaliser to take the game to extra time, and Mike Clarke made sure the game didn’t progress to penalties with a late winner for the visitors.

 Saturday 11th April 2009

Lostock Reserves 1 – 0 Tarporley Vics Res

Lostock kept themselves in contention for top spot in the Crewe and District League with a win against Tarporley Vics Reserves, Jack Bryning grabbing a late winner.

Match Report Saturday 4th April 2009

Tarporley Reserves 1 – 1 Lostock Gralam Res

Lostock missed out on the chance to go top of the league against the much improved Tarporley. Their cause wasn’t helped by playing most of the match with 10 men following the dismissal of Wakefield, but Byrning’s goal was enough to move them a point from the top with 3 games to go.

Match Report Saturday 28th March 2009

AJ Cooke Trophy

Penalties conversions from Jack Bryning, Mitch Izzard and Tom Shutt saw Lostock progress.

Match Report Saturday 7th March 2009

Inter League Cup – R3

Match Report Saturday 6th December 2008

Mid Cheshire District Cup

Lostock Reserves 4 – 3 Cuddington

Lostock’s second string ensured their progress from the second group, matching the senior teams 100 percent record in the competition. Goals from Clarke, Bryning, Harrison and Shutt were enough to see off Cuddington and book their place in the semi finals.

Match Report Saturday 22nd November 2008

Lostock Reserves 5 - 1 Cudddington

After a recent stutter, Lostock comprehensively dispatched local rivals and title challengers in this top of the table clash. Craig Smith grabbed another brace to make it 4 in 2 games, with Carter, Jones and Shutt making a telling contribution with a goal each.

Match Report Saturday 15th November 2008

Match Report Saturday 11th October 2008

Winnington 0 - 2 Lostock Reserves

Jack Bryning and Peter Harrison were on target to ensure Lostock take control of the group ahead of November Decembers meeting with local rivals Cuddington.

Match Report Saturday 27th September 2008

Lostock Reserves 4 - 0 Curshaws

Lostock's second string cruised to their 3rd straight win over last years champions in a convincing all round display. Goals from Clarke, Bryning, Harrison and stunning long range effort from Shutt secured the victory.

Match Report Saturday 20th September 2008

Sandbach 1 - 2 Lostock Reserves

Lostock continued their ascent up the league following their opening day loss with a hard fought victory at Sandbach. Dave Alex got both Lostock goals.

Match Report Saturday 30th August 2008

Crewe and District League

Lostock Res 1 - 3 Bentley.

Lostock made a hugely disappointing start to the new season with a home reversal against an average Bentley side. Dom Johns opening the scoring for Lostock and it looked as though they would have a simple victory, but overconfidence crept into their play and Smith was guilty of complacency as he conceded a penalty just before the half to take the sides level at Half Time.

Despite a stern talking to, Bentley extended their lead and ran out comfortable 3 - 1 winners.
